The monastery's new Dean (Disciplinarian) instatement ceremony was held on 25 December 2020 this year, a few days later than the traditional instatement day usually held on Gaden Ngamchoe / Lama Tsong Khapa Day - 25th day of 10th Tibetan Lunar Calendar month. Geshe Tsewang Topden, the outgoing Dean passed over the responsibility to the new Dean - Geshe Gyurmey Thinley, who will hold office till the next Gaden Ngamchoe 2019-2020.

Geshe LIngse (Guenling/winter) Graduation Ceremony for the year 2019 was held between 17 - 19 December 2020. Ten pupil monks received their Geshe Lingse scholastic title during this witner graduation ceremony.

A special Hayagriva Prayer and Fire Puja Ceremony was conducted on 2nd December 2019 during the pilgrimage visit of Venerable Master Hai Tao and dharma disciples to Sera Jey Monastery.

The sacred ceremony was conducted by the monastery's Abbot, Tulkus, Geshes and member monks in the presence of Venerable Master Hai Tao and dharma disciples.

Geshe Lharam Graduation Ceremony 2019 was held between 1 - 7 December 2019. Lharam Geshe is the highest monastic scholastic title award conferred after completing the monastery's curriculum and the six year Gelugpa University's examinations. There were twenty five pupil monks during the 2019 Geshe Lharam Graduation.

Sera Jey Buddhist Culture Center – New York, organized a “Conference in Honor of 600th Anniversary of Je Tsong Khapa’s Parinirvana”, on 30th November & 1st December 2019 at New York. Two eminent personalities connected to Tibetan Buddhism – Geshe Dr. Thupten Jinpa, Ph.D., & Prof. Robert Thurman were key speakers alongside Venerable Khangser Rinpoche, Yangsi Rinpoche, Pari Rinpoche, Tenzin Gyurmey Rinpoche and Geshe Rinchen Ngodup.
