H.E. The 42nd Sakya Trizin Rinpoche of the Sakya tradition paid a visit to Sera Jey Monastery. The monastery's abbot, former abbots, tulkus, geshes and sangha members accorded a grand welcome to H.E. The 42nd Sakay Trizin Rinpoche, His first ever visit since enthronement to the Sakya Trizin seat.

Geshe Rigram Graduation Ceremony for the year 2019 has been scheduled from 20-22 July 2019. In this annual Geshe Rigram graduation ten pupil monks received the scholastic title.  The pupils have dedicated several years of regular study, debate and practice in Buddhist philosophy.  Thus, the Geshe graduation ceremony is one of the most significant occassion to a pupil monk's event in the monastery.  

The Buddhism Session of Foundation For Universal Responsibility of H.H. The Dalai Lama's 15th annual Interfaith Pilgrimage was held at Sera Jey Yiga Choeling Centre on 10th & 11th of July 2019. The program invites youths of diverse background to experience the different major faiths - Hinduism, Islam, Christanity, Jainism, Sikhism, Buddhism & Judaism with a vision to inculcate and promote inter religious harmony.

On 8th July 2019 Sera Jey Monastery celebrated the 61st Birthday of Venerable Master Hai Tao. In the absence of the monastery's abbot, who is on an Dharma tour to Mongolia, Khensur Rinpoche presided the celebration ceremony attended by all heads of department & khangtsens.

Sera Jey Monastery's Kadrin Jedren Higher Education Scholarship for the academic year 2019-20 was granted to 21 students. The scholarship grant was released to respective candidates during public ceremony of His Holiness The 14th Dalai LamaHis the 84th Birthday celebration at Lugsam Tibetan settlement auditorium on 6 July 2019.
