The annual Sangcos Monlam Prayer Ceremony for the year 2021 was scaled down in view of the global pandemic protocol, from 8th to 11th January 2021, with a limited assembly of 150 monks at the main temple. While the rest of the monk community observed the ceremony at the respective residence quarters.

On the auspicious occasion of Mahaparinirva day of Jetsun Choekyi Gyalsten -renowned text composer of Sera Jey monastic University, special Tsog offering was held at the main temple 2nd January 2021 with limited assembly in view of the global pandemic protocol.

Venerable Gendun Dargye of Sera Jey Drati Khangtsen has been appointed the new Chant Master of Sera Jey Monastery following the retirement of his predecessor Geshe Dawa Choegyal. The instatement ceremony was held on 1st January 2021 in a limited assembly gathering due to global pandemic protocol.

Sera Jey Monastic University in collaboration with Sera Jey Board of Higher Education, organized a Vitual Talk in celebration on the simultaneous occurrence of three important occasions on 10th December 2020.
i) The 600th Gaden Nga-Cho Chenmo, honoring the Mahaparinirvana of Lama Tsongkhapa, the spiritual king of three realms;
ii) The celebration of the 31st anniversary of Nobel Peace Prize award to His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama;
iii) And the celebration of the 2020-21 the "Year of Gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, as marked by the Central Tibetan Administration, Dharamshala.
