Sera Jey & Sera Mey administration offering Scarfs as a token of Gratitude & Appreciation to health workers of settlement’s Tsojhe Khangsar Hospital and the settlement Representative, for their service during the COVID-19 containment measures from from 21st to 24th October 2020, following the report of Covid-19 cases at Sera Monastery and its vicinity.

Sera Jey Monastery on 10 August 2020, distributed Face Masks & Hand Sanitisers to its member monks in its continued containment measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Face Masks were sponsored by Su Fu Mei Xie Shang Yu of Taiwan, and the Hand Sanitisers was sponsored by Sera Jey Taiwan Dharma Center from Taiwan.

The monastery’s abbot presided the distribution of the PPE, under the organization of the administration.

Sera Jey Monastery, as per COVID-19 norm, observed a limited celebration ceremony of the 85th Birthday of His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso, presided by the Abbot and attended by Chief Disciplinarian, Chant Master and respective Department heads / Khangtsens.

During the ceremony, the 6th Annual "Kadrin Jedren Higher Education Scholarship" of Sera Jey Monastery was released by the Abbot, 13 students from the two settlements of Bylakukppe and two new arrivals from Tibet were awarded scholarships for the academic year 2020-21. Also "Gratitude Allowance" to four needy elders (old-aged seniors) in the settlement community were released by the monastery's Chief Disciplinarian. The two awards are part of the Sera Jey Monastery's Gratitude to His Holiness The Dalai Lama's invaluable kindness and service to Tibetans and the world community.

The ceremony was concluded with the planting of fruit trees at the Sera Jey Monastery's vacant field.

Sera Jey Monastery released its 6th "Annual Kadrin Jedren Scholarship for Higher Education" for the academic year 2020-21. 13 students from the two Tibetan settlements of Bylakupe and two from newly arrived from Tibet, were the recipients of this year's scholarship.

This scholarship is part of our Sera Jey Monastery's Social and Educational Program, a dedication in Gratitude to His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama's invaluable kindess and service to Tibetans and the world community.

Sera Jey Monastery has taken active initiative with other organizations during the COVID-19 lockdown, distributing food rations to the poor and needy people who were mostly daily wage earners.
