Phurjjel ceremony 14Feb.2026The annual Phurjel (Hayagriva Ritual Dagger) Blessing Ceremony scheduled on the customary 27th day of the last Tibetan calendar month, was held on 14th February 2026. The Tadin (Hayagriva Ritual Dagger), one of the sacred relic of Sera Jey, is annually taken out once for blessing devotees. The monastery’s abbot undertakes a series of meditation for several days as part of the preliminary ritual before the blessing day.

Guthor Ceremony 16Feb2026Members of the Hayagriva Ritual Shrine dedicating three days of prayers for the Annual Gu-thor Ceremony held on the 29th day of the last Tibetan Lunar calendar month, 16th February 2026. On the final third day, the Guthor Torkya is performed, whether the Torkya is set on fire after undergoing elaborate rituals. The Guthor ceremony is a traditional Tibetan Buddhist ceremony held every second last day of the Tibetan Lunar calendar month, to eliminate all negativities and ills before the start of the new year.

Lorsa 2153 ceremony 18Feb2026In the early morning of 18 February 2026, Sera Jey Monastery's Abbot, Chief Disciplinarian, Chant Master, Tulkus, Geshes and member monks assembled to celebrate the traditional monastic Tibetan New Year Ceremony, 2153 the year of Fire - Horse. Sweet Rice and Tea were served to the assembly, and Tibetan cookies were offered.

Hayagriva Retreat Ceremony Mar2026Sera Jey Monastery's annual Hayagriva Retreat ceremony for the year 2026 has commenced from 6th March 2026, and will run up to 16th March 2026. On the final day of 16th March 2026, the ceremony will conclude with a grand Hayagriva Fire Puja and Tsok Offering. The monastery has arranged special areas for lay devotees to observe and participate in the retreat.

Hayagriva Fire Puja 16Mar2026A grand Hayagriva Fire Puja Ceremony, Jinsek, was conducted on the final day of the annual Hayagriva Retreat Ceremony, on 16th March 2026. The ceremony was presided by the monastery’s Abbot and head monk of Sera Jey Hayagriva Ritual Shrine, assisted by members of Hayagriva Ritual Shrine members and participated by the entire sangha community of Sera Jey. In the afternoon, a grand Hayagriva Tsok Offering Ceremony was conducted, led by the monastery’s Abbot. Many lay devotees attended the two ceremonies on the concluding day of the Hayagriva Retreat.
