Sera Jey Monastery hosted a group of school students, including teachers, from 11 different schools in Ladhak, at Sera Jey Tashi Choeling Centre from 28 January – 1 February 2026. The Translation Department of Sera Jey Monastery, organized tour visits to monasteries and schools in Bylakuppe settlement, and introductory programs on His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama’s books based on Buddhist philosophy and secular values, and monastic debate.

The Logic & Debate School 2026 was held at Sera Jey Tashi Choeling Centre from 21st – 30th January 2026. There were twenty participants during this 10-daylong Logic & Debate School 2026. This event held at Sera Jey Monastic Institute is part of Unione Buddhista Italiana – UBI, Rome Italy, and Instituto Lama Tsong Khapa, Pisa Italy, Three-Year Program in Logic and Debate. Where the practical Debate are organized at Sera Jey Monastic Institute.

IGNOU Special Study Centre - 13156D at Sera Jey Monastic Institute, held a Promotion Meeting & Press Meet held on 17 January 2026 at 10 am. Dr Hemamalini HC, The Deputy Director of IGNOU Bangalore Regional Centre, has specifically visited the study centre to preside the Promotion Meeting and the Press Meet, in view of the upcoming January 2026 fresh intake.
Several students from Sera Jey Monastic Institute, Sera Mey Monastery, Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, Namdroling Monastery, Bylakuppe Tibetan students and local students from the surrounding villages & towns attended the promotion meeting.

On 20th December 2025, Sera Jey Monastic Institute hosted 33 students & teachers from 1st & 2nd year Psychology Department of Tumkur University during their educational tour visit. The English translation department under the Modern Education Department undertook the hosting programs for the visiting group. The monastery’s Abbot after granting an audience for the group, gave a brief talk on values and advantages on the study of ancient Indian psychology. The group also received a talk from the Modern Education Dept. head, Geshe Jampa Choewang & Science Centre Director, Geshe Jampa Khechok, presented a talk on the relevance on ancient psychology with Buddhist teachings on the four truths, compassion, and mindfulness meditation.
Besides, the group had a tour visit of the main temple, debate courtyard, science centre … etc.
