5th Summer Camp Closing 16July2026.pngThe 5th Summer School for children of Tibetan diaspora organized at Sera Jey Tashi Choeling Centre from 26th June 2026, concluded with the closing ceremony on 16th July 2026. This year’s summer school has the participation of 40 Tibetan children from 11 different countries.
Sera Jey Monastery’s Abbot, Khen Rinpoche Geshe Tashi Tsethar, was the Chief Guest, and Guest of Honour – Mr. Gelek Jugney, Representative of Lugsam Tibetan Settlement of Bylakuppe, and Mr. J.P. Urs. President of Indo-Tibetan Friendship Society of Bylakuppe Chapter. The ceremony was attended by the monastery’s Chief Disciplinarian, Chant Master, Chief Administrator, respective Department & Khangtsen Heads and concerned Staffs.

The Abbot, presented the Certificate of Participation to respective children, The Head of Department of Modern Education Department presented the completion certificate to Sera Jey Online School’s 8th Grade, second semester students, and the Chief Disciplinarian presented the Appreciation Certificates to teachers, staffs & volunteers.

The children displayed their Tibetan calligraphy work, Tibetan guitar and flute skills and performed traditional folk and opera dance at the closing ceremony, which they had learned during the 21 day summer school.

Inauguration 5th Summer School 2026The 5th annual Summer School 2026 was inaugurated on 26th June 2026. The inauguration was attended by monastery’s Administrator and Head of Department of Sera Jey Monastery’s Modern Education Department, teachers, staffs and organizing committee of the fifth annual summer school.

This annual Summer School is part of Sera Jey Online School’s program, organized by Sera Jey Monastic Institute specially for children of Tibetan diaspora, to provide coaching in Tibetan language, speaking & writing and Introduction to Buddhist culture, values.

This year, there are 40 Tibetan children participating in the three-week long summer school, from 26th June to 16th July 2026. During the summer school the children will learn Tibetan language, reading and writing, Buddhist meditation, Introduction on Buddhist culture / values, Tibetan music, song / dance and instruments.

BA Hons 1st Batch Certificate 7June2026The 1st Batch of thirty-seven BA Hons graduates under the Specialized Program of University of Mysore, 2022 – 2025, received their Bachelor of Hons. Certificate during the Presentation Ceremony conducted on 7 June 2025. The monastery’s Abbot presented the certificates to the 37 graduate candidates.

17th Summer Camp Closing Ceremony 5June2026The 17th Annual Summer Camp for students of the two Tibetan Settlement of Bylakuppe during their summer vacation, commenced from 16th May 2026, was concluded on 5th June 2026 with a closing ceremony attended by the monastery’s Abbot, as the Chief Guest & TDL Settlement Officer Mrs. Ngawang Tenzin as the Special Guest, Administrator, Council Committee Member, Teachers & Organizing Committee, students and their parents. The Chief Guest and Special Guest presented the Certificates of Participation to respective students and Appreciation Certificates to the teachers & organizers.
