Sera Jey Monastery conducted the second of the two rounds of the 29th Jang Gunchoe Tsen-phued Dhamcha, a nightlong debate ceremony, on the 14th of December 2018. The grand ceremony was attended by HE Gaden Tri Rinpoche, abbot of Sera Jey Monastery, abbots & former abbots of Sera Mey and other Gelug monastic institutes, Disciplinairans and Chant Master of Sera Jey and Sera Mey Monastery, tulkus and geshes of Sera Jey, Sera Mey and teachers & pupils monks.

During this special ceremony, Sera Jey Monastery awarded the 'Award of Excellence' to Lharam Geshe Thabkye for his meritorious achievement in securing the First Position and Highest Marks in all the six annual Gelug Examinations. The award was presented by HE Gaden Tri Rinpoche and Abbot of Sera Jey Monastery.
