On 25th August 2026, a delegation from Sera Jey Monastic Institute led by Chief Administrator, Geshe Lobsang Norbu, paid a courtesy visit to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka State, H.E. Shri D.K. Shivakumar, and the Hon’ble Minister for Minority Welfare Department, H.E. Shri U.T. Khader. The delegation had the privilege to forward monastic institute’s Invitation Letters for the 2nd Graduation Ceremony of B.A. Hons, to respective Hon’ble Ministers. We are grateful to Shri Jikmet Wangdus Jyothi, member of the Karnataka State Minorities Commission.

The annual Summer Retreat’s Lapcha Sessions (Guidance Instruction) were held on 13th & 14th August 2026 for respective classes of the monastery’s maistream curriculum, for Gelong and Getsul ordained pupil monks. Pupil monks of Sera Je Secondar School were also given guidance instructions. The Instructions were given by the monastery’s philosophical teachers. It is introduced in the monastery annual program as per the guidelines of Geluk International Foundation’s resolution.

The Administration accorded a warm welcome to H.E. Mr. Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India, Mrs. Cecile Mathou, Consul General of France in Bangalore – Mr. Marc Gamy and Mis. Hemangini Rakshit - Chargée de mission, on 22nd July 2026, during their tour visit to Sera Jey Monastic Institute. They had a tour visit to the Debate courtyard and observed the Sutra Recitation by the pupil monk assembly, followed by visit to the main temple & Hayagriva shrine, and lighted butter lamps. The dignitaries were greeted by the monastery’s Abbot over tea and brief discussion. They had a short observation of the Debate session which was in progress.
The dignitaries then made a tour visit to Namdroling Monastery, followed by Tashi Lhunpo Monastery. Sera Jey Monastic Institute hosted a lunch for the dignitaries at Sera Jey Science Centre’s Guest House, before the dignitaries departure to Bangalore at 1.15 pm.

Tibetan Parliament in Exile members, Juchen Kunchok Chodon and Tsewang Tashi Bhawa paid a courtesy visit to our monastery in the morning of 20th July 2026, during their official tour visit to Bylakuppe settlement. The monastery accorded a welcome to the two visiting dignitaries, represented by the Chief Disciplinarian and Administrator.
