The Administration of Sera Jey Monastic Institute organized His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama’s 91st Birthday celebration ceremony at Sera Jey Gatseling, today on 6th July 2026. Venerable Khensur Tenzin Jampa Choesang Rinpoche, was the chief guest, and other guests include Sera Jey Monastery’s Council Committee, Representative of Sera Thekchenling Lachi, Heads of Departments, Khangtsens and council members.
The ceremony commenced in the morning with Khensur Rinpoche and guests offering scarves to the Portrait of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
Tea and Sweet Rice was served to the chief guest & guests. The Birthday Cake Cutting Ceremony was presided by Khensur Rinpoche. The chief guest & guests planted 1113 different trees at Sera Jey Gatseling.

The Chief Justice Commissioner, Mrs. Yeshi Wangmo, of Central Tibetan Administration, paid a visit to Sera Jey Monastery on 26 December 2025, during her official visit to the Tibetan Local Justice Commission of the Southern Region at LSTS Bylakuppe. The monastery’s administration accorded a warm welcome and apprised on the monastery’s current state of affairs.

Sera Jey Monastery organized a special mass prayer ceremony on this Thursday, 4th December 2025, performing White Tara Long Life Offering and Prayer Offering for the wellbeing of His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama. This prayer ceremony is conducted as part of the Ghoton Ceremony on behalf of the two Tibetan Settlements in Bylakuppe. Hundreds of lay devotees from the two settlements participated in the prayer ceremony.
