Chotrul Duschen, it is the first Full Moon of a new year, considered a very auspicious day for offering prayers , maintaining/performing good thoughts & deeds, also marking the 15th & concluding day of Tibetan Lorsa (New Year) celebration. Special mass prayers are performed at Sera Thekchenling Lachi.

Losar, Tibetan New Year, is celebrated on 1st day of the 1st Tibetan calendar month. There will be traditional monastic Lorsa ceremony early in the morning at the main Prayer Hall, attended by all – abbot, former abbots, Tulkus, Geshes and monks besides department heads, with prayer offerings and serving of sweet rice / tea and cookies.
