Sera Jey Monastic Institute conducted its first graduation ceremony of the First Batch BA Hons. (2022 - 2025), instituted at Sera Jey under the specialized program of University of Mysore in 2022. The Ceremony was held alongside the monastery’s official celebration of Ghoton, ‘Year of Compassion’, marking the 90th Birth Anniversary of His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama, at Sera Jey Tashi Choeling Centre on 17th October 2025.
The Chief Guest of the Ceremony was Dr. MC Sudhakar, Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education Department, Government of Karnataka, and HE Sharpa Choeje Jetsun Khensur Ngawang Jorden, Venerable Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, Hon’ble Speaker of Tibetan Parliament in Exile and Prof Lokanath NK, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University of Mysore, were the Guest of Honor. Besides, other Guest of Honor include members from Tibetan Parliament in Exile, Representatives from the two Bylakuppe Tibetan Settlements, Dr. Parashurama KG, HoD Department of Studies & Research in Social Work, Tumkur University, and Dr. M. Daniel, Associate Professor and Chairman, Department of Ethics/Philosophy of Religion, University of Mysore.
During the ceremony, five eminent social workers were conferred Sera Jey Honorary Award for their exceptional social service work. Book Release ceremony was also held during the ceremony. Tea and lunch was served to the guests, participants and attendees.
