Prayer Offering to patrons and supporter of the monastery

saka dawa 00Vesak Day ceremony was held at Sera Jey Bangalore Buddhist Society for two days on 20th & 21st May 2016. Sera Jey Khen Rinpoche (abbot) presided the main ceremonies of the two day program, along with senior members of the administration committee and member monks. The two day ceremony was attended by members and devotees of the society and Tibetan community in Bangalore.

Khen-la-duemang (abbot/former abbots. lamas and member monks) of Sera Jey Monastery and on behalf of all our affiliated centers, monasteries and their respectful members, offer profound respect and prayers to His Eminent Kyabje Khensur Rinpoche Geshe Lobsang Palden, who passed away on 1st May 2016 at Taipei, Taiwan.

Khensur Rinpoche was a highly respectable and learned senior monk of the monastery, who has given extensive teachings to thousands of pupil monks at Sera Jey. He has served as the 73rd abbot of Sera Jey Monastery from 23rd March 2005 to 5th May 2012, during which many developments were undertaken.

125 monks from Sera Jey Monastery including Khentsap, Omze (chant master), chanzo (administrator) and DoE head participated in the 'Prayer for Peac'e at the "125th Birthday Celebration of Dr. B.R Ambedkar" at Vidhana Soudha, Bangalore, on 14th April 2016, organized by Social Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka.

The prayer ceremony was attended by Karnataka Chief Minister - Shri Siddaramaiah, ministers and departmental officials, who greeted and felicitated the monastery's dignitaries and monks for participating and performing the prayer offering.
