The monastery's IGNOU Study Unit conducted a Study Career Couseling workshop for all IGNOU enrolled student monks on 17th of November 2016. Venerable Tenzin Gyurmey Rinpoche and Mr. Lobsang Yeshe (member of TIPE) were invited as the chief speakers for the counseling workshop. The counseling was conducted with an objective to have a better understanding on the scope and benefit of taking modern education alongside with the monastic study curriculum.

A Student Exchange Program was held between the English Translation Unit and Bangalore Tibetan Youth Hostel on 14th November 2016 at Sera Jey YIga Choeling Center. Various programs were conducted from Introduction on Buddhism to Meditation, Tibetan Buddhist culture to Powerpoint Presentations and other topics of interest. Twenty four students from Bangalore Tibetan Youth Hostel participated with students of monastery's English Translation Unit during their first exchange.

The annual Yang Drup Ceremony - Propserity Puja for the year 2016 has commenced on 10 Nov. 2016. The three day ceremony is led by Jetsun Khensur Rinpoche Geshe Lobsang Delek, a host of elder Geshes and senior monks are performing the rituals (puja).

The Annaul Debate Examination for the year 2016 has commenced from 4th Nov. 2016. Every pupil monks of respective classes will participate in the debate examination. Debate forms an important learning aspect in studying the philosophy, and a significant hallmark of the Tibetan Gelukgpa Buddhist tradition.
