Trungar 2020Sera Jey Monastery, as per COVID-19 norm, observed a limited celebration ceremony of the 85th Birthday of His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso, presided by the Abbot and attended by Chief Disciplinarian, Chant Master and respective Department heads / Khangtsens.

During the ceremony, the 6th Annual "Kadrin Jedren Higher Education Scholarship" of Sera Jey Monastery was released by the Abbot, 13 students from the two settlements of Bylakukppe and two new arrivals from Tibet were awarded scholarships for the academic year 2020-21. Also "Gratitude Allowance" to four needy elders (old-aged seniors) in the settlement community were released by the monastery's Chief Disciplinarian. The two awards are part of the Sera Jey Monastery's Gratitude to His Holiness The Dalai Lama's invaluable kindness and service to Tibetans and the world community.

The ceremony was concluded with the planting of fruit trees at the Sera Jey Monastery's vacant field.

T Scholarship 2020 21Sera Jey Monastery released its 6th "Annual Kadrin Jedren Scholarship for Higher Education" for the academic year 2020-21. 13 students from the two Tibetan settlements of Bylakupe and two from newly arrived from Tibet, were the recipients of this year's scholarship.

This scholarship is part of our Sera Jey Monastery's Social and Educational Program, a dedication in Gratitude to His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama's invaluable kindess and service to Tibetans and the world community.
