A special Medicine Buddha and Tara Puja was organized by Sera Jey Monastery, dedicated to alleviating the pandemic Coronavirus Infection crisis in China and its rapid spread across the world. Tulkus, Geshes and monks performed the puja ceremonies, for healing and removal of all negative obstacles.

The monastery's Winter Camp (Coaching) for school students 2019-20 during school winter vacation was organized by Sera Jey Monastery's Modern Education Departmentat and held at Sera Jey Tashi Choeling Centre from 15 January - 3 February 2020. Coaching on Tibetan Language, English, Mathematics and Science, besides introduction on Buddhism and Meditation Practice. Over 60 school students, boys and girls, participated in this two week long winter camp.

The annual Written Exam of respective classes of the monastery's main curriculum was conducted on 16 & 17 January 2020. It is one of the three differnt forms of examinations - Debate, Written and Memorization.

The Sangchos Monlam Prayer Ceremony, one of the major annual ceremonies of Sera Jey Monastery, is conducted from 12 - 16 January 2020. The prayer ceremony is in veneration of Jetsun Choekyi Gyaltsen, the text composer of Sera Jey Monastery's philosophical study curriculum, and also dedicated to the longlife of His Holiness The Dalai Lama, Buddhist masters, benefactors and all sentient beings at large.

The annual Sceince Exam of the monastery was held on 25 December 2019. Science discipline is an extra curricula of the monastery. Sera Jey Science Centre administers and organizes the curriculum and examinations
