History of Service
Besides the Monastery's traditional culture & academic
curriculum, it has been actively involved in many other spheres

Recounting over the last three decades of its reestablishment

in its service field all along with the growth of the Monastery,
wherein the first batch of 197 monkis from Tibet, was the
backbone in laying the foundation for the rehabilitation &

225 acres for dwelling & cultivation, amidst the unaccustomed
climate & region.
The reestablishment of the Monastery gave the Tibetan refugee
settlers of Bylakuppe a fresh source to their traditional
Dharma practice & culture back into their spiritual lives,
amidst the traumatic experience from loss of their homeland
& the survivial for life in a totally different region

as one of the largest & prime learning centres of Buddhism.
Over the last two decades, there has been a phenomenal increase
